About Me

About Teresa

My life has always been about family. I grew up surrounded by people who I knew loved and cared about me; siblings to play with, grandparents with welcoming homes and spaces for exploring, and parents who were attentive to my needs. Sadly, my experiences also called for adopting new ways of being and caring for those I loved when some very serious things went wrong. Those memories of living life amidst family in good and bad times nourished my desire to raise my own family with strong capacities to love and care beyond difficulty. It is also what guided me to find a professional path with dreams of enabling others to build those invaluable experiences of loving and being loved deeply.

As a mental health professional, I focus on the treatment of emotional and mental health issues within the context of marriage, couple, and family relationships. In relationship is where people best define themselves and feel connected to life. When you are out of step with those you care about most, your whole world can feel off. I know this firsthand but when I realized it was time to do something serious, the marriage was already destroyed. I wish I had known to change the music. I wish I’d known that it was possible to pick a new song.

I work with couples, families, and individuals looking to improve their relationships and consequently their entire way of being in this world. Finding meaning through the struggle is the goal to a life well-lived.  For over five years I have been formally counseling couples, families, and individuals who lost their rhythm and got out of sync with one another and the music. It is my desire to provide a supportive and caring space for clients that want to uncover thoughts and behavior patterns that are holding them back from authentic and meaningful relationships.

I work with couples at all stages whether that is going into a committed partnership, struggling with connection, or grieving loss from a failed relationship. I bring a unique combination of professional training and life experience to my work and use this to assist clients in building stronger, richer, and more fulfilling relationships with their partners, families, and self. I help you to find your strength to be vulnerable, courage to do deep discovery, and intentionality to be who you want to be in your relationship.
